Once for ceremonies only, Matcha is now served hot and cold, and is used in health shakes, ice creams, baked goods and cooking. It is loaded with antioxidants to begin with as our high quality Matcha is made using pure luxury tencha green tea which is actually Gyokuro leaves. This causes Izu Matcha to have higher levels of chlorophyll than other Matcha and results in an emerald green color.
Our Izu Matcha has a natural antioxidant boost. It is very high in antioxidants because it is blended with a high altitude Western Kenyan green tea which has 3 times the antioxidants of regular green tea. This significantly boosts the already high antioxidant level of our Izu Matcha.
